ABSENTEE BIDS:

R
equired to place an absentee bid:
Visa or Mastercard number and
expiration date on file OR a pledge to make immediate
payment from a PayPal account
with a current ballance sufficient to cover all bids you wish to place. (Due to payment to
sellers, mailed payment is NOT an option). Fee for absentee bids is the 7.5% standard
buyer's premium, + the 5% creditcard or PayPal fee an
additional 7.5% for
processing (only if you win the bid) Additionally, absentee buyers must pay actual cost
of shipment a
nd insurance. Your maximum bid will NOT be placed, but rather bid up
one increment at a time in response to live bidding at the auction. In other words, you
will get the item at the lowest bid possible (similar to eBay). This gives you
the same advantage as being there. (On no minimum items, I generally start the bidding
at 1/3rd to 1/2 the price I estimate the selling price to be).
Circumstances sometimes result in the item selling at the highest level of the absentee
bidder, but placed by a live bidder.

You may phone and leave your Visa or Mastercard number with expiration
date, your address and phone number (if they are not already on file with me)
Be sure you receive an email response from me confirming your bid(s), as Emails
sometimes get "lost." If I do not confirm within 24 hrs, please email me again.
Please place all absentee bids by January 28th if possible.

NOTE: While I will make every effort to see that all absentee bids are submitted, this is the most complex
juggling act during the bidding and requires the use of assistants. Therefore, while most often this element
of the auction goes as planned, I cannot absolutely guarantee your absentee bid will be entered in every
instance. It is in my own interest that it does, so, be assured, if such an error occurs, it is accidental.

*****************************************************************
People wishing to submit specimens for sale:
Contact me as soon as possible. Items will only be accepted
which are deemed to hold appeal to the collecting community
and which have no or a modest minimum.
Photos must be furnished before January 20th at the very latest
just to make the catalog. However, far more advertising is available
if JPGs and descriptions are submitted as soon as possible.

Please email or call me for full details.

My costs in putting on the auction TRIPPLED in recent years and increase yearly
. I was faced with several options:
A) Stop doing auctions (Space during the Show is VERY expensive).
B) Increase Buyers' Premium (I had been charging 5% for some time)
C) Increase Sellers' commission fees. - or -
D) a combination of B & C.
I decided on D with as minimal as possible impact on both sellers &
buyers. So, I set up the following criteria:

Buyers' Premium is still a modest 7.5 %. (standard in auctions all now charge between 15% and 25% buyers' premium!)

1) JPGs and descriptions received before Nov. 15 are still only 10%
(all sellers must bring their pieces to the auction between 5:30 PM
and 6:30 PM the day of the auction)
2) Those who get the list and photos by Nov. 30 pay 15%
3) Those who get the list and photos to me by Dec. 15 pay 20%
4) Those who bring their item(s) unannounced the day of the auction pay
25% between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM based on indivudualized calculations.
6) Anyone bringing their item(s) to the auction after 6:30 PM will pay an additional 5% whatever their category, and those showing up unannounced after 7PM will pay an additional 5%
7) Those who bring their item to the auction after 7:15 pay yet another 5%
-------------
Therefore, those offering items for sale will be paying as little as 10% and
depending when they enter their items a little more to the point that if they
show up unannounced in 10 minutes before the auction, as much as
40%. Hopefully, these prices will allow the majority of sellers to offer items
at the same low commission rate as always, bring down the last minute
insanity making flurry of entries yet generate enough to make up for the
dramatically increased overhead.

NOTE: I may or may not "negotiate" a lower fee for some sellers based
on my perception of the desirability and /or value of (a) given item(s) and whether
or not they are offering them at "NO MINIMUM."

In other words, if someone shows up at the last minute with a fabulous
specimen and is asking no minimum I will negotiate
the fee on said item.

IN FACT, the entire consignment fee structure MAY be negotiable depending on the factors
involved with specific entries. This is entirely at my discression.

ALL entries are at the discretion of the auctioneer and
PRIORITY WILL BE
GIVEN TO NO MINIMUM/NO RESERVE ITEMS and to ITEMS OF HIGHEST
QUALITY. I reserve the right to decline acceptance of items I do not believe will
generate a high level of interest among the bidders.

As for "jump bidding" - in the past, a jump bid required the next
Bid to be as large - however, this ended up being unfair to the sellers,
As several people managed to "shut down" bidding with this strategy,
With the result being the seller got far less than the item would otherwise
Have brought. So, you can still "jump bid" but the next bid will be the
normal increment for that level.

The seller, not the auctioneer is responsible for all items until the auctioneer says
"SOLD" on any given item. At that point, the auctioneer is responsible. (I do provide
4 large glass lidded boxes that would make theft very dificult, but you may want to
keep an eye on your own pieces.

DIRECTIONS: (For GPS navigational download go to:
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/24678 - Thanks to Richard Kowalski)

VFW Hall (Post # 549)
1150 N. Beverly Ave., Tucson, AZ

FROM INN SUITES:

- Take Speedway east from Inn Suites about 5.2 mi
- Left on
Beverly which is a few blocks past the
major intersection of Swan and Speedway and two blocks
before the major intersection of Craycroft and Speedway.
(If you get to Craycroft, you went two blocks too far).
- Turn left onto N. Beverly Ave. from Speedway and pull
into the ample VFW parking lot at 1150 N. Beverly Ave.

There is plenty of parking and a no host bar attached
to the hall with burgers, fries, sandwiches, etc. available.
Please drink responsibly or have a designated driver.

*****************************************

********************************************
EVERYONE TAKE NOTE:
People "cash out" in the order they register for a bid card. ABSOLUTELY
NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO REGISTER FOR ANOTHER BIDDER. However, there will be TWO people cashing out everyone at the end and
one DURING the auction for those who were interested in only one or two items.

- Buyer's Premium is 7.5%

- There will be a 5% processing fee for use of Visa or Mastercard (or PayPal by absentee bidders)

- You MUST fill out a card when registering for your bidding number listing your
RESALE NUMBER or stating you are a retailor in Meteorites (Some states
do not have a resale number), OTHERWISE you will pay AZ/Tucson sales tax.

********************************************
STILL ROOM TO ENTER ITEMS

PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO NO MINIMUM/NO RESERVE ITEMS
and to ITEMS OF HIGHEST QUALITY.

This promises to be a FUN time & everyone is invited to sell, buy or just enjoy the
festivities & to go to a late dinner afterwards. This is an opportune time for many of
us on the list who know one another only via e-mails to meet face to face & get to
spend some fun time together. (If you buy some stuff at the show - bring it to the
auction & at the dinner afterwards we can all Show & Tell - one of the more fun
aspects of collecting, in my book).

I only require 2 things:
1) I ask that everyone just buying arrive between 5:30 & 7:00 to pre-register
to get a bid number & examine specimens that will be offered (& take advantage
to meet “old friends” you only know by e-mail address! and "have a cold one" if
you so choose - or, in Rob's case, a warm one.

2) The VFW has a full bar on site. However, please drink responsibly and have a
designated driver.

- There will be a uniformed guard to facilitate security .

It is my intention to retain the open atmosphere which has characterized
my auctions since the beginning.

This year's auction promises to be the best to date!

(If you would like to put an exceptional specimen on consignment, please
contact me at mlblood@cox.net for a full description of terms and conditions)
