Shirokovsky Propaganda Brochure (5.5" X 8.5")
A color copy of the brochure telling the story about
the "discovery" of the Shirokovsky fake pallasite which
was sold at the Tucson Show several years ago, selling
quite well
before it was realized that it was a spectacular
meteor wrong, which brings more money per gram than
many true meteorites - sought by all who have a
"meteor wrong" collection where it always stands out as
a spectacular example.
This is the "Piltdown Man"of the meteoritic world
and
this is the brochure that "documented" it as a true
pallasite. A must have for any meteor wrong collector
or collector of meteoritic history.

ABSENTEE BIDS: One of the following are required to place an absentee bid:
Visa or Mastercard number, expiration date & secyrity code on file OR a
pledge to make immediate
payment from a PayPal account with a current
balance sufficient to cover all bids you wish to place.

Fee for absentee bids is 10% (above the buyers' premium of 10%- only if
you win the bid, of course) + actual shipping costs, including membrane
boxes if protection of the piece(s) is.are needed.

Your maximum bid will NOT be placed, but rather bid up one increment
at a time in
response to live bidding at the auction. In other words, you will
get the item at the
lowest bid possible (similar to eBay). (On no minimum
items, I generally start the bidding at 1/3rd to 1/2 the price I estimate at will
be the hammer price). This gives you
the same advantage as being there.
You may phone or email your bids to me. Be sure you receive an email
response from
me confirming your bid(s). (Emails sometimes get "lost").
No absentee bids will be received via email after I leave for the show!

-------------------------------------------

In by 11-1-12 = 19%
In by 12-1-12 = 21%
In by 01-1-13 = 23%
In by 1-15-13 = 25%
In by 5:30PM = 30% (Day of Auction)
In by 6PM = 35% (Day of Auction)
In by 7PM = 40%
After 7M = 45%

All consignment fees are based on seller delivering items to auction before 6PM day of Auction (By 5:30 is preferred).

NOTE: The fee for failure of items to meet the minimum bid set by seller
is 3% of the minimum bid required.

People wishing to submit specimens for sale should
contact me as soon as possible. Items will only be accepted

LOCATION: VFW Post #4903 at 1150 N. Beverly (1 block
north of Speedway and 2 blocks west of Craycroft. pull into the ample
VFW parking lot at 1150 N. Beverly Ave.

-------------------------------------------

DIRECTIONS:
--------------------------------------------
FROM THE FWY:
1) Take the FWY to Speedway Exit
2) Take Speedway east 5 miles - go a few blocks past Swan to N Beverly
3) Turn Left on N. Beverly and go one block to 1150 N. Beverly Ave.

4) If you get to Craycroft, YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR - go back 2 blocks!

FROM INN SUITES:

1)- Turn L. Leaving Inn Suites parking lot onto Granada
going “north” - (away from “Downtown”)

2) Turn Right onto Speedway and go 5 miles - go a few blocks past Swan to N Beverly Ave.
3) Turn Left onto N. Beverly Ave. and go 1 block to the VFW parking lot.
4) If you get to Craycroft, YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR - go back 2 blocks!

Tucson is laid out such that Broadway, Speedway and Grand all run
parallel on another and are the main arteries roughly East and West,
while many main arteries run roughly North/South, such as Swan and
Craycroft
.

This VFW post has plenty of parking and a no host full bar. So, be prepared to see
a LOT of specimens & meet lots of people face to face. EVERYONE is invited to
attend, bid and/or sell.
There will be micromounts, macromounts, small specimens, part slices, whole
slices, whole specimens, huge/multi-kilo specimens & RARE thin sections.
All are welcome to enter specimens, whether you are a dealer or modest collector

wanting to sell (a) specimen(s) which is/are now upgraded in your collection.
This is NOT an event just for dealers - so, please feel free to submit any item(s).
However, when the list goes over 100, I will begin to pick and choose even more
closely among items offered as to which will be best to include in the auction.

PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO NO MINIMUM/NO RESERVE ITEMS
and to ITEMS OF HIGHEST QUALITY.

This promises to be a FUN time & everyone is invited to sell, buy or just enjoy the
festivities & to go to a late dinner afterwards. This is an opportune time for many of
us on the list who know one another only via e-mails to meet face to face & get to
spend some fun time together. (If you buy some stuff at the show - bring it to the
auction & at the dinner afterwards we can all Show & Tell - one of the more fun
aspects of collecting, in my book).

Most auctions now customarily charge buyers a 15% or 25% "buyers' premium"
which is added on to the winning bid price. Even for this auction, expenses have
increased to the point I must charge a minimal buyers premium of 10%. I have
kept this as low as possible to minimize the pinch felt by the buyers, yet allow me
to continue to hold this event in the face of a 1,000% increase in expenses.

ABSENTEE BIDDING: Email me your lots and highest bid. Bids will be made
for you based on live bidding until your limit is reached on a given lot (Similar
to eBay. Immediate payment required via credit card or PayPal is required when
contacted a day or two after the auction (NO CHECKS). 20% will cover buyers'
premium, card or PayPal payment and absentee bidding process. Shipping will be
added to your purchase.

Chris Monrad Photo Presentation 5 to 7:30PM
Includes: all of the Gold Basin project hunts &other hunters who joined later
Tucson Show photos,
Jim Kriegh/Twink Monrad parties at his house
Misc. meteorite related photos.
Classic photos of the late Jim Kriegh,
Photos of O. Richard Norton and
Photos of lots of other meteorite folks.

I only require 3 things:
1) I ask that everyone just buying arrive between 5:30 & 7:00 to pre-register

to get a bid number & examine specimens that will be offered (& take advantage
to meet “old friends” you only know by e-mail address! and "have a cold one" if
you so choose - or, in Rob's case, a warm one.

2)
I am limiting the auction to 125 lots. So, if you plan to submit your item AT the
auction, the better the specimen and the earlier you arrive to register, the more sure
you can be of getting your piece(s) in the auction – and an early arrival
allows you
to take a close look
at the material available.

3) The VFW has a full bar on site. However, please drink responsibly and have a
designated driver.

I will be accepting absentee bids
prior to the auction. I will be accepting Visa and Mastercard payments for .

said absentee bids. There will be a 5% processing fee for use of Visa, Mastercard or PayPal.
+5% for the absentee bid + actual shipping cost and any safety containers required for same.

- At the auction, personal checks and cash are accepted.

(For purchases made with Visa/Mastercard,
there will be a 5% processing fee charged).

It is my intention to retain the open atmosphere which has characterized
my auctions since the beginning, being and have a fun social atmosphere which, I feel,
provides a real service to the meteorite community. From low to high quality
specimens for sale to the more discriminating collector and opportunities for dealers to
make major purchases and sales, as well.

This year's auction promises to be the best to date!

(If you would like to put an exceptional specimen on consignment, please contact me at mlblood@cox.net for a full description of terms and conditions)
